Overcoming Objections when you are Speaking with your Target Audience

Have you ever had a hard time getting past all the objections that your target audience comes to you with when you are promoting your service or product?


I mean… who hasn’t??


Maybe your audience has objections like lack of money, lack of time, or any other mindset beliefs. When these come up, it can prevent them from taking action and investing in themselves. However, by not taking the necessary steps to overcome these objections, they are missing out on the opportunity to learn a valuable skill, reach their goal, solve a problem, or something else along those lines that you are trying to do for them.


If you ever thought about it… this can potentially change their lives!

 


OVERCOMING OBJECTIONS

With my own service as an example, I get a lot of objections. I create website & I create courses that educate on how to create a course for yourself so you too can start making passive income. So, with this course, ‘how to create your own course,’ my audience can gain the knowledge and skills to create and sell their own course, which can ultimately lead to a passive income stream, the ability to share their expertise with others, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives.


However, I get the same objections as you and this is how I handle these objections. I feel first and foremost, it's important to address them head-on and provide solutions.


LACK OF MONEY

Overcoming the objection of lack of money is a common challenge when selling anything to your audience. Fortunately, there are several strategies you can use to address this issue and convince your potential customers to invest in your service or product, in my case, a course.
For example, if the audience has a lack of money, I offer payment plans so that they can pay a smaller amount upfront and pay off the rest in regular intervals. Or I can show them how they can save money in other areas of their life to invest in their education.


Another thing I could do for my audience is, I can offer a discount or a special promotion to encourage your audience to sign up for your course. This could be a limited-time offer or a special deal for the first few customers who sign up.


Social proof is always good as well so that they can see that it is real and it can benefit them as well.


LACK OF TIME

Then there is another big one, lack of time. There are a few approaches to help you overcome this objection. When this comes up, I let them know that I provide a flexible course where they are able to do it on their own time or I highlight how the time investment now can lead to more free time in the future! Sometimes, there is an underlying objection for this… Take the time to understand your audience's specific objections and address them directly. For example, if they are concerned about the course being too time-consuming, you could offer a shorter version or highlight the key takeaways.


I also emphasize the benefits of my course and how it can help them achieve their goals, possibly in a lot less time! That is important!

MINDSET BELIEFS

Now, something that gets missed many times is the mindset. And typically, it is one of the biggest challenges we may face! We have to remember that we are all raised different, in different environments, & in different situations, so we do not all think the same - which of course, you know!


But, that means, it is also important to address any mindset beliefs that may be holding your audience back. Encourage them to have a growth mindset and believe in their ability to succeed. Show them all that they could do with their life and how it could change with the product or service you provide. Sharing success stories from past students is a huge one as it shows that it's possible to overcome these objections and achieve their goals.


Understanding your target market is crucial in any business. You have to not only know their needs and preferences, you need to know things like:

  • What would be the reason for not buying today?
    What would they rather have instead?
    What would make them buy?
    What are their goals, challenges, and pain points?
    What are their values and interests?


Once you have identified the mindset beliefs, then it needs to be addressed. To do this, you can show your audience how your product or service can solve their problems and meet their needs. Use testimonials, case studies, and any success stories to demonstrate the effectiveness of your product.

Those are just some of the questions you want to answer when you are trying to target your audience… You want to know why??

Because if you are able to answer these questions… You can put the right message in front of them making it almost impossible for them to not buy! Your IDEAL CUSTOMER or AVATAR is key! Write it out! Figure out what those answers are to those questions for your topic or service and you will have it made, my friend!


ALWAYS PROVIDE VALUE

Finally, always make sure that you provide value to your audience. Offer resources and information that will help them achieve whatever goal or result they are looking for. This builds know, like, trust and credibility with your audience, making them more likely to purchase!


By addressing objections and providing solutions, you can help your audience overcome their barriers and see the value in investing in themselves through your course. And… you will grow & profit!
