Having a Business Mindset

The information provided is from my own experience and may not work for everyone. I am not a professional nor claim to be. Please read my disclaimer for more information.

I want to talk about having a business mindset and what are some things to think about when you have a business and a business you want to succeed…

Let’s Jump Right In!

One of the first things I say when discussing having a business mindset is to always be open to opportunities of

educating yourself.

Whether that is reading, teaching, doing... educating & focusing on improving your skills and mind is essential to growth.

This can mean taking courses, attending workshops or conferences, or even hiring a business coach or mentor. By expanding your knowledge and skills, you can stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and apply them to your own business.

It is probably the number one thing you can do to better your company and yourself - and one thing that cant be taken away.

It is also essential to master ONE skill!

Many people feel like they to take on all the skills...

To tackle every single thing that everyone else is doing just does not work - you have to know what you are doing and be in the industry for a minute before you can take on more than one skill - and actually thrive.

For instance - social media - when you are starting out, I would say focus on one - YouTube, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, etc. so on and so forth - CHOOSE ONE - and then when you have built on this and mastered it, you can add another one. But taking on all of them because everyone seems to be on all of them - you will just get lost and frustrated.

You want to master one well and then if you feel the need to add another - go ahead!

Just remember, it can be powerful when you have educated yourself on every aspect of your chosen platform, you have mastered it, and know what you are doing - and now you are able to teach/mentor others.

POWERFUL.

Another thing to think about...

Mistakes happen!

Don’t let it hold you back!

Don’t let it bring you down!

It is important to understand that everyone makes mistakes but what happens after is all that matters.. and that should be… Moving forward.

Mistakes are a natural part of life. The key is to focus on moving forward and learning from our errors.

One important aspect to keep in mind when learning from our mistakes is to avoid dwelling on them for too long. While it's important to reflect on what went wrong, it's equally important to avoid getting stuck in a negative mindset. Instead, try to focus on the lessons learned and how they can be applied in the future to avoid making the same mistakes again.

  • Stay positive and avoid blaming yourself or others for the mistake.

  • Identify what went wrong and why it happened.

  • Reflect on what you could have done differently.

  • Take action to correct the mistake and prevent it from happening again.

  • Stay focused on your goals and keep moving forward.

Remember, mistakes are a natural part of the learning process, and they can help us grow and become better versions of ourselves. So don't be afraid to make mistakes, but also don't let them hold you back. Keep learning, growing, and moving forward.

Next, another important aspect of having a business mindset would be

New business opportunities.

Whether that is finding new products, new services, new ways to coach… whatever it is, finding new business opportunities are just as important in growing your business.

It is important to constantly seek out and explore these opportunities to stay competitive and expand your business as well.

In addition to exploring new products, services, and coaching techniques, there are several other ways to find new business opportunities.

Here are some ideas to consider:

  • Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to meet new people and learn about new trends and developments in your field. Building relationships with other professionals can also lead to potential partnerships and collaborations.

  • Market research: Conducting market research can help you identify gaps in the market or areas where there is a high demand for a particular product or service. This can help you tailor your offerings to meet the needs of your target audience.

  • Customer feedback: Listening to your customers can provide valuable insights into what they want and need from your business. This can help you identify areas for improvement or new opportunities to expand your offerings.

  • Technology: Embracing new technologies can open up new possibilities for your business. For example, you could explore the use of artificial intelligence, automation, or virtual reality to enhance your products or services and create new revenue streams.

Be proactive in finding ways to do this - by doing so, you can stay ahead of the competition and position your business for long-term success.

Now the next one is also very important...

Invest in yourself and your business.

That means when you make a big sale - don’t go out and celebrate with all that $$ you just made. In fact, I would put it towards marketing, buying something that helps your business, saving it for that software that will allow your business to run better... Save it for something that helps you and your business.

It is so important to invest in yourself and your business when you start earning money.

Why? Investing in yourself and your business is crucial once you start earning money. By doing so, you are not only investing in your own personal growth but also in the growth of your business. This can lead to better outcomes and higher success rates in the long run.

One way to invest is by educating yourself which we already touched on earlier in this blog. And to say it again, educate, educate, educate.

LEARN. DO. TEACH.

Another important area to invest in is your health and well-being. Taking care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally can have a positive impact on your business. When you feel your best, you are better equipped to handle the challenges that come with entrepreneurship.

Networking is also a key aspect of investing in yourself and your business. This is something I also spoke about earlier but is still vital to investing. Building relationships with other professionals in your industry can lead to new opportunities and collaborations. Attend local events, join industry groups, and connect with others on social media to expand your network.

By making better decisions with your money, you will grow.

Investing in your business is investing in yourself.

Now, here is one that no one really thinks about but we all know it’s there...

Always be prepared get for change.

Get ready to flip on a dime.

In the fast-paced online world, it's crucial to stay up-to-date by educating yourself and improving your business based on the latest audience trends. However, this doesn't mean you need to jump on every bandwagon. Rather, it's important to keep a finger on the pulse of what your audience is interested in, as their preferences are constantly evolving.

You have to be able to grow with your audience. You can do this by a number of ways, but some quick ones are: monitoring social media, attend industry events, conducting surveys, & analyzing your metrics. Just a few but very good starters.

By staying informed and adapting to your audience's changing interests, you can build a loyal following and stay ahead of the competition.

Alright, so I know you have heard this one a thousands times…

Make clear goals and write them down.

Research has shown that people who write down their goals are more likely to achieve them compared to those who merely think about them. To increase your chances of achieving your goals, you should take certain steps, including developing a plan of action, holding yourself accountable, or having someone else hold you accountable, and regularly reviewing your goals. That means take time once a week to update or mark off a goal but keep them in your mind.

Break down your larger goals into smaller, more manageable tasks. This can help you avoid feeling overwhelmed and allow you to track your progress more easily.

It can be helpful to have a support system in place to keep you motivated and on track. This can be a friend, family member, or even a professional coach who can provide guidance and accountability throughout the process.

By utilizing these strategies and staying committed to your goals, you can turn your aspirations into tangible achievements.

Another business mindset to have is to

Be confident in yourself & your Business.

I am so serious - you made the decision to start this business - so stand strong behind that decision. Even if you need to go back re-evaluate your business, maintain your confidence in yourself and your business.

Let your business shine by having faith in yourself and your vision.

It’s so important to believe in what you are doing! If you don’t believe it, then why would anyone else?

If you need to, bring yourself back to square one and remind yourself why you started your business. Keep that "why" in mind and have confidence in your decision.

Last, but not least!

Ask for feedback!

Asking for feedback is important when providing products or services to your audience or clients. It doesn't have to be personal, and receiving feedback, whether good or bad, can provide valuable information to improve your offerings. Don't be afraid to ask for feedback and use it to your advantage.

It is an essential part of any business strategy. It allows you to gain insight into your customer's needs and preferences, and gives you an opportunity to make adjustments that will ultimately lead to better outcomes for your business.

It is important to be specific about what you want feedback on so make a list. You want to also make sure you show your customers that you value their feedback as well.

Use the feedback you receive to make changes that will benefit your customers. If you see a common theme among the feedback you receive, make changes that address those concerns.

Okay! That’s it! Obviously, there are more but these, to me, are the top notch so, read it, do it, and GROW!
