Let’s jump right in! So how do we get more from our blog? Well, the real question is how do we increase our blog traffic?

We all are trying to find ways to do this whether it is to get out there and be visible, get leads, financial reasons, or get audience to your site - whatever it may be, we want that traffic!

Here are some great ways to start building your blog traffic up and getting to that next level in your business or personal hobby!

To increase your blog traffic, there are several effective strategies you can employ. Lets go though each!

  • Create extensive blog posts to offer in-depth coverage of your topic- also known as “long-form blogs”

One of the most effective ways to increase your blog traffic is to publish long-form blog posts. These are typically posts that are over 1,500 words in length and provide in-depth and detailed information on a particular topic - your niche, service, product, or whatever it is that you are providing in your business. Try these tips to help get you started:

  • Use subheadings to break up the content. This also allows the readers to go through your blog with ease.

  • Incorporate relevant images and videos to enhance the user experience.

  • Use keywords and phrases throughout the post to improve search engine optimization (SEO) - this is important as it helps you with traffic. That means go through your settings and keywords to your images you use, your description of the blog, and all through your blog.

  • Include internal and external links to other relevant content on your blog or website. That might be to your own product or service, affiliate links, or maybe you have a great product for the audience that shares your topic and your interest - but might help your subscriber as well.

  • Promote your blog posts on social media channels to drive traffic back to your site.

You can create engaging and informative in-depth blog posts that will attract more traffic to your blog and help you build a loyal readership by adding these things to your current regimen each time you blog.

  • Include new content in email newsletters to keep subscribers interested

Email newsletters are a great way to keep your audience engaged and informed about your latest content. By promoting new content in your newsletters, you can increase its visibility and drive more traffic to your website. Here are some tips to help you effectively promote new content in your email newsletters:

  • Create attention-grabbing subject lines! This will help entice your subscribers to open your emails and see what you have to offer them. - See the next section!

  • By using visuals such as images and videos, you can showcase your new content in a more effective way and make it more appealing to your subscribers.

  • Provide a brief summary of the content and make sure to highlight those key points (or discounts/sale) to give your subscribers a reason to click that button (CTA) and push through to your website.

  • Include a clear call-to-action that encourages your subscribers to take action, such as "Read More" or "Instant Access," “Find out how!”

  • Personalize your newsletters by addressing your subscribers by name and tailoring the content to their interests and preferences. Get to know your audience and find what their problems are so you can provide the solution.

  • Test different approaches and analyze your results by tracking how many are opened and viewed, or clicked through - this will help see what works best for your audience and for your business.

Promote your new content in your email newsletters and this will help drive more traffic to your website. These things can take time and sometimes it is hard to come up with what to say - I get it 100%.   • Use lengthy, gripping headlines to capture readers' attention

Crazy or wild headlines can be incredibly effective in catching the reader's attention and enticing them to click and read more. Here’s why:

  • They provide more detail: By doing this, you are giving your readers a better idea of what the article is about and what they can expect to learn from you.

  • They increase curiosity: You are driving interest to that reader and you pique a reader's curiosity - making them want to dive deeper into the content, which is what we want!

  • They improve SEO: Including relevant keywords in your headline can absolutely help improve or increase your search engine rankings! This makes it easier for people to find your content online, which in turn provide more traffic to your blog or site.

  • They stand out: Enticing headlines can help your blog post stand out from others on the same topic and generate more clicks and engagement.

So don't be afraid to get creative and use longer headlines in your blog posts! For some it is difficult to come up with a good headline but take a couple words from your blog, add some enticing or interesting words and put it all together - you want to make sure that it accurately reflects the content and provides value to your readers.

  • Write about trending topics to attract a larger audience

Trending topics is a great way to attract readers and keep them engaged with your content! With so many topics to choose from, it can be challenging to decide which ones to focus on, but using your keyword search process, you can come up with quite a bit!

BUT, I want to share with you a few tips and ideas to help you write about trending topics! Obviously, one of the most common ways to do find this using social media to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and topics. Of course, you also have Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Go through Google search and start with your typing in your topic and see what pops up! That’s a great way to see what they are looking for now! Consider the audience you want to reach. What topics are they interested in? What do they want to learn more about? Then - start typing in search to find more!

Look for ways to add your unique perspective to the conversation. What insights or opinions can you share that others might not have considered? You can even take a stand on controversial topics. Just be sure to back up your opinions with facts and logical arguments.

Finally, remember that trends come and go quickly. To stay relevant, you'll need to keep a close eye on what's happening in your industry and be ready to pivot your content strategy as needed by using the keyword search process to see what others are looking into.

  • Comment on related blogs to increase visibility and build relationships

Commenting on related blogs can be an effective way to increase engagement and drive traffic to your own blog. Make sure your comments are thoughtful and avoid generic or spammy comments that don't contribute anything meaningful, but start a conversation to see what others might say about it. This is also a great time to link one o of your blogs into the blog you are writing on, but don't make it the focus. The goal is to add value to the conversation, not just promote yourself.

Engage with other commenters as well as the blog author! This can help you build relationships with other bloggers in your niche and potentially lead to collaborations or guest posting opportunities. Be consistent in your commenting efforts. Set aside time each week to engage with other blogs in your niche and build relationships with other bloggers.

These steps are certainly powerful tools to grow your own blog - by commenting on related blogs, you establish yourself as a thought leader in your niche!

  • Optimize your posts for SEO to boost your search engine rankings

I know I already mentioned this above, but I have to go through it again but in detail - to increase your blog traffic, optimize your blog posts for SEO!

This is an essential step to make sure that your content gets discovered by search engines and your target audience. There are definitely a few ways to do this but here are some tips you can use to get started:

  • Conduct keyword research and include relevant keywords in your blog post title, URL, meta description, and throughout the content. Just make sure that your content sounds natural and not just stuffing a ton of words.

  • Use header tags (H1, H2, H3) to break up your content. Again, this makes it easier to read for both search engines and readers.

  • Write high-quality content - you want the reader to stay on your blog -the longer they stay, the more you get noticed. Search engines think that your content is worth putting on top.

  • Use internal linking to other related content on your blog to help search engines understand the structure of your website and keep readers on your website longer.

  • Optimize your meta descriptions to provide a clear and concise summary of your content and entice users to click through to your website - USING KEYWORDS.

Okay! All this helps improve the visibility and ranking of your blog posts in search engine results pages, ultimately driving more traffic to your blog and/or website!
